Out of Hours

To contact a doctor when the surgery is closed at weekends and between the hours of 6.30 pm and 8.00 am Monday to Friday, please telephone NHS 111 (dial 111 from your phone for free) and your call will automatically be forwarded to the Somerset Out of Hours Medical Service

Telephone Advice

If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse on the telephone, please try to telephone (Williton 632701) either between 8.30 am and 9.00 am or between 11.30 am and 12 noon, when the clinician is more likely to be available. We try not to interrupt consultations except in an emergency.

Home Visits

homevisitsIf you feel unable to come to the surgery and think that the doctor may need to see you at home, please telephone the surgery between the hours of 8.30 am and 11.00 am, if possible.

In order for us to assess the urgency of the visit you will be asked to give brief details of your problem. A doctor or nurse will telephone you to determine whether a visit should take place or whether it would be possible for you to come into the surgery. Please remember that the doctor can often do more for you in the surgery than at home, so it is in your interest to attend the surgery if at all possible. Most ill children can quite safely be brought to the surgery.

Please only request home visits if absolutely necessary, they are only meant to be for people who, for a clinical reason, are housebound and not able to attend the surgery. Home visits are normally undertaken between midday and 2.00 pm, you should not expect the doctor to arrive immediately following the end of the morning surgery. Whilst we will try to assist with requests for a certain doctor, we cannot guarantee who the visiting doctor will be.  We regret that we are unable to provide home visits because patients do not have transport.
